The EM500-SWL is designed to measure liquid levels in harsh environments and transmit data using LoRaWAN® technology.
With its low power consumption technology, the EM500-SWL-L005 can operate for up to 10 years on a 19000 mAh battery.
Combined with any LoRaWAN® gateway and any cloud solution, users can remotely and visually manage all sensor data.
EM500-SWL is widely used for applications such as tank level monitoring, river level monitoring, etc.
Measuring Range: Customizable up to 5m (H2O) and for other (non corrosible) liquids.
Cable Length: Al least 1-1.5m longer than measuring range <5m. It's possible to extend the cable length adding 10.00€ for each meter extension.

FAQs:
Can the device work with other brand gateways?
Yes, the device can work with other brand gateways which supports standard LoRaWAN protocol.
Can the level sensor with cable detect the level of oil or other liquids?
Yes, you can put EM500-SWL to other liquids but need to do the data process on your server. The operating principle of EM500-SWL is to measure the liquid pressure and output the level based on formula P=ρgh and value ρ is fixed as pure water density 1g/cm³. You can calculate the other liquid level on your server by formula h=ρ1/ρ2*ho. (ρ1=water density=1g/cm³, ρ2=other liquid density, ho=measuring result of EM500-SWL)
Besides, for corrosive liquids, please put the liquid type and concentration to Milesight to check if SWL probe and cable support and may customize other types of probes and cables.
Can the water level probe touch the drinking water or milk?
Yes, the material of probe is 304 stainless steel, which is suitable for food applications. But please note that if there is any food safety approval requirement for this kind of product.
Is EM500-SWL made only to measure water or also for different materials such as septic tanks, sewers?
EM500-SWL is designed to measure water, not suitable for septic tanks. It's recommended to use another model EM500-UDL which is a Ultrasonic Distance Sensor for measuring materials such as septic tanks.
Can the EM500-SWL test atmospheric pressure?
No, EM500-SWL can just test the liquid level.
When testing the level, should the probe suspend in the water or reach the bottom of the water? How deep should I put the probe inside the water?
To get stable result, it is suggested to insert a a steel pipe with holes to cover the probe and cable.
Is EM500-SWL affected by water condense or freeze?
No, as long as the probe is immerse in water under the ice.
Can I connect a 0-10m range probe to a 3m measuring range EM500 transceiver?
Not suggested since the measuring range of every transceiver is fixed.
Can EM500 transceiver support UV-proof?
Yes, the material of EM500 is ABS + PC which is UV-proof.
Can EM500 series support external power supply?
Yes, it can be powered by type-C port inside the device, but this should release the IP67 case of EM500 transceiver. If you need to place outdoors, please customize the waterproof case or contact Milesight for customization services.
Can EM500 series have ATEX certification?
No, EM500 series sensor is not designed for explosion proof and does not has ATEX certification.
Why can not receive EM500 device battery level data on regular uplinks?
The reporting interval of EM500 battery level is 24 hours and this is non-editable.
Will EM500 send threshold alarm packets? How often the device send the alarm?
Yes, EM500 device supports threshold alarm feature. When the value reaches the threshold, it will send the alarm once immediately. After that, it will not send instant again until the value is below the threshold.
Does this device support low battery alarm?
Yes, the device will send a low battery alarm packet to network server when battery level is lower to 10%.
