Yes, the device can work with third-party gateways that support the standard LoRaWAN protocol.
Is the EM500-PT100 a type T thermocouple?
No, the PT100 probe is a platinum thermal resistance probe.
Does the EM500-PT100 corrode if used to measure the temperature of saltwater?
No, it does not rust because the PT100 probe is coated with 304 stainless steel.
Can we connect our own 15-meter extension cable and the PT100 probe to the EM500 device? Is it necessary to calibrate the EM500?
Yes, it is possible to connect your own PT100 sensor and extension cable. Make sure that your PT100 sensor meets the following specifications:
PT100 sensor type is 3-wire; 4-wire does not work with EM500 device.
Due to software limitation, the sensor can only measure the temperature range that matches the software range. For example, if you have EM500-PT100-T800 device, it can only be used for the measuring range between -50℃ to 800℃.
If there is deviation in the measured data due to the extension cable being too long, it is recommended to calibrate the values on your server as the EM500 does not support calibrating the PT100 value.
What is the default size of the straight tube PT100 probe?
The default size is Φ4*30 and can be customized according to your needs.
Can the PT100 probe touch food?
Yes, the PT100 probe is covered by 304 stainless steel tube, which is suitable for food applications. But please note that if there is any food safety approval requirement for this kind of product.
Can the PT100 probe detect saltwater or other liquids?
Yes, it can detect salt water or weak corrosive liquids. For strong corrosive liquids, please contact Aithings.store to customize other types of probe protection tubes.
Can the PT100 probe detect air temperature?

Can the PT100 probe be calibrated?
No, the PT100 probe is actually a platinum resistance sensor that measures temperature based on the linear relationship between temperature and resistance; it does not require calibration.
Can I connect my PT100 probe with a wider measurement range or higher accuracy to the EM500 transceiver for better measurement results?
No, the measurement range and accuracy of the EM500-PT100 transceiver are fixed and cannot be changed. Please contact Aithings.store for customization services if you need a wider measurement range and higher accuracy.
Does the EM500-PT100 have explosion-proof certification? What is the material of the PT100 cable? Can it be flame retardant? What is the working temperature?
Currently, there is no explosion-proof certification. The PT100 cable material is Teflon wire, the working temperature range is -200 to 290°C, and the cable's flame-retardant rating is VW-1.
Can the EM500-PT100 detect the temperature of a cooking pot?
Yes, the EM500-PT100 probe supports customized 304 stainless steel, which is a food-grade stainless steel.
Can the EM500-PT100 measure the temperature and humidity of a refrigerator?
The EM500-PT100 can only measure temperature. For humidity and temperature monitoring in refrigerators, we recommend using the EM300-TH.
Can I use the UC50X to connect the PT100 of the EM500?
No, the UC50X does not support connecting to the PT100 interface.
